Welcome to my poem thread! I love writing poems! These are mainly poems about nature, good for almost all ages.

Here is a poem in iambic tetrameter:


The Birds of the Autumn

I'm in the woods in early fall,
The trees surround me, gray and tall.
A chickadee now sings to me,
He's in a tree that I can see.

A nuthatch climbs; he's upside down,
His head is barely turning brown.
A warbler flashes overhead,
He's headed to his southern bed.

A towhee chirps, so far away,
He's looking for a place to stay.
I'm in the woods in early fall,

Here's my next one in anapestic tetrameter:

Snow

I have always enjoyed having fun in the snow,
And then coming inside by the fire aglow.
When the roads get all icy and school is let out,
I stare out the window as flakes float about.

When the sky is all white and the clouds are ahead
I know it is time to get out my old sled.
When the grass is all covered, the snow is so pure,
The time to have fun is so close, that's for sure.
