I can't keep on doing this anymore....

We've been friends since the beginning
All was fine
Until you decided to show me
Your dark side
It started with shunning
And just being rude
If only this
Was the end of it
But it gets much worse
Next came slaps
And words sharp as arrows
They pierced my heart
Deep, deep they went
But that wasn't the end
Much, much worse you sent
Now it's swearing
Ridiculing humiliation
Countless lies
We started out close
But now there's
A canyon between us
My old wounds never healed
My heart is terribly scarred
But you multiply the pain
With each and every thrust
I don't know if things
Will ever be the same again
If you and me
Will be good friends
Ever again
What the future holds
Is a mystery to me
Whether we will be together
Or miles apart
All I want now
Is to mend my broken heart
What ever that may be
What ever is in store
I just have to say
I can't keep on doing this anymore
