Word Count

If you have Microsoft Word on your computer you can calculate how many words your story contains. (Go to 'Tools' and click on 'Word Count')
Here's a chart to tell what your story is:

- Microfiction: Up to 100 words
- Flash Fiction: 100-1,000 words
- Short Short: 1,000-2,000 words
- Short Story: 2,000-7,500
- Novelette: 7,500-15,000
- Novella: 15,000-40,000
- Novel: 40,000 and up
